I have been busy with the holidays and am finally getting around to checking out my blog. No excuses. I am here now and still really like that song that I have playing. Makes me think of the Cape a lot.
The election of our new president has everyone running to the printing press and I am no exception. Here is my recent Pop rendition of Obama. I am hoping to sell a copy or two but who knows. There are a lot of posters out there already. Contact me if you would like one for yourself. They sell for $100 for the linen and $120 for the gallery wrapped canvas.

Painted Dog Portraits
I have just completed a commission for a special client and want to share the finished product and the process that was employed to create it. My client has three Labradors and wanted to include the now deceased father in the 26×16 painting. There was no picture with all the dogs together so we found separate photos to use as reference and combined them with shots of the view from their home. They were very happy with the finished painting.

Last summer I had the opportunity to paint the portrait of Lady Di. Weston
My family has grown by one. A tiny baby boy pug has come to live with us. The four cats are not thrilled but they respect his baby ways and have not attacked him and he just is amazed by them. We all love him and look forward to many years of happy memories.

Open Hearth Cooking in Lisbon, CT
Seems I have a new interest. I was asked to photograph a hearth cooking class put on by the Lisbon Historical Society of which I am a member. Having spent the night with the ladies and guests and I am now a definite fan of hearth cooking. I will be an attending lady this weekend. Check out my videos that I made of the event. There is Part 1 and Part 2 as Youtube allows only 10 minute clips.Here is a shot of the women of the Historical Society.

In memory of Nellie Brehant
This painting is in memory of my dear sweet mother-in-law, Nellie Brehant. She was a elementary school teacher her entire life. Her four children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grand children will miss her forever.
Working on the eyes
This is an eye drawing I have done following a tut I had found on the web. Seems this posting had been deleted and now I don’t have the name of the site I got the tutorial from. Don’t know how all the info from this post was deleted. I will repost the eye pic when and if I find it.
Working on my sketching
This is my homework sketch that I did for my Open Studio class I am taking. Over to Karen Bonakers Digital Art Academy you can find the best in digital instruction.This is a great way to improve my drawing skills while working right at home. The group of artist participating are all wonderful and helpful with their critiques and positive feedback. I hope to improve my skills and will post my progress here for all to see. I am really enjoying this .

Here in New England the weather is anything but predictable. Today promises to be a real treat. Last weeks freezing winds are replaced with Spring breezes. I will make an effort to enjoy the outdoors for a bit. It really takes an effort on my part to walk away from the computer as I am thoroughly addicted. Working on more summer scenes of Cape Cod. Sold another painting at Montano’s in North Truro, MA. What a blessing it is to be able to have my work on display and for sale in Bob Montano’s fabulous restaurant. Above is a portrait I did for Bob. His mom has it proudly hanging in her home.

I am all caught up with my gift paintings and customer orders! Now I can focus more on my Holiday chores such as wrapping and cleaning and cooking and shopping. I gave my mentor, James Christley, a painting of a photo he took of a rose in his yard. He really was pleased which makes what I do so fullfilling. I would give it all away if it weren’t for having to pay bills. As soon as I figure out how to post a pic here I will be much happier.

Low TideHello world. I am posting my first blog and hope to be able to keep at it. I work on my computer daily as I have a small digital art business, Seabreeze Studio, that I run from home. I paint digitally from photographs of people, places and pets. I then print them on stretched canvas or linen and embellish with acrylics. They look real nice and painterly. Like this one here.
