I frequently get asked to create a painting by combining two separate pictures. Painting digitally makes the process not that difficult. Here is an example of a commission I did for a customer who had an old photo of a beloved antique car. He also loved my painting of the Highland Lighthouse that is located in North Truro, Mass. He was very excited to hang this as he no longer had the car. I am always trying to create new paintings that appeal to my clients.

Here is an update on the contest I entered two weeks ago. Due to lack of planning and space, 33 paintings were cut, mine included. I will have the opportunity to show in a quickly thrown together show for all the “orphaned” paintings. Iam reallylooking forward to this event. Major bad feelings from the rejected artists as they were all told that they paintings would be in the show the night of the award giving. So much work and money was spent by all artists.
The date and time of my Art Opening at the North Truro, Ma Library has been changed to May 15th from 2-4. Hope to see you there

I have been busy with the holidays and am finally getting around to checking out my blog. No excuses. I am here now and still really like that song that I have playing. Makes me think of the Cape a lot.
The election of our new president has everyone running to the printing press and I am no exception. Here is my recent Pop rendition of Obama. I am hoping to sell a copy or two but who knows. There are a lot of posters out there already. Contact me if you would like one for yourself. They sell for $100 for the linen and $130 for the gallery wrapped canvas 16×20.

I have just completed a commission for a special client and want to share the finished product and the process that was employed to create it. My client has three Labradors and wanted to include the now deceased father in the 26×16 painting. There was no picture with all the dogs together so we found separate photos to use as reference and combined them with shots of the view from their home. They were very happy with the finished painting.
I have been a member of a digital art web community created by Marilyn Sholin for a year and a half. It is a web forum that focuses on aspects of producing and marketing digital art. This wonderful site is called DigitalPaintingForum.com and has a membership of 2997 at the moment. Last summer I had the opportunity to paint the portrait of Lady Di. 
My family has grown by one. A tiny baby boy pug has come to live with us. The four cats are not thrilled but they respect his baby ways and have not attacked him and he just is amazed by them. We all love him and look forward to many years of happy memories.
Seems I have a new interest. I was asked to photograph a hearth cooking class put on by the Lisbon Historical Society of which I am a member. Having spent the night with the ladies and guests and I am now a definite fan of hearth cooking. I will be an attending lady this weekend. Check out my videos that I made of the event.
