lady-diblog.jpg Last summer I had the opportunity to paint the portrait of Lady Di.
Vernon Porter, aka Diannah Porter (Lady Di) came to the USA from Springhill, Nova Scotia in January1962 and resided in Waltham, Massachusetts before moving to Provincetown. He founded Vernon’s Music &Dance Apparel in 1969 and later expanded into a bigger store that included a full line of womens’ apparel, catering to the transgender community. The building also housed the International Foundation For GenderEducation (IFGE) where he gave IFGE a place to grow and live for many years. After visiting Provincetownon the weekends from 1991, he became a full-time resident in 1998. He is currently employed in ProvincetownTown government and teaches makeup and hairdressing on a private basis.Vernon is very versitile! He was the host of his original Curtin Up RadioProgram  which has tranformed into his equally  entertaining “Legg’s Up and Dancin'”on WOMR 92.1 FM in Provincetown every Friday night from 5-7 as he has been for the last 5 years<www.womr.org> under the nom deplume Lady Di, a  local legend in her own right. weston_8x8-final.jpgMy family has grown by one. A tiny baby boy pug has come to live with us.  The four cats are not thrilled but they respect his baby ways and have not attacked him and he just is amazed by them. We all love him and look forward to many years of happy memories.

Having spent the night with the ladies and guests and I am now a definite fan of hearth cooking. I will be an attending lady this weekend. Check out my videos that I made of the event. There is Part 1 and Part 2 as Youtube allows only 10 minute clips.Ladies of the Lisbon Historical SocietyHere is a shot of the women of the Historical Society.

I spent all weekend on a new website and now don’t know how to verify it.  It will probably take me all day today to get this one figured out. Please check out the site and let me know if it works.
